So here are the treats I have found that keep my blood sugar below 140 an hour after eating them. Maybe someone else can enjoy some!
* 3 dark chocolate H.ersheys kisses
* sweet potato with butter
* B.obili wheat pizza crust- I made a sausage pizza on one of these and could eat 1/3 of it and got a bs under 110 an hour later!
* T.homas Samrt Start multi-grain english muffins - nice to pair with the egg whites you will live off of - or top with some mozzarella and seasoning for a garlic cheese bread.
* S.wiss M.iss sugar free hot chocolate - so good and only 10 grams of carbs
* F.iber O.ne makes AWESOME frozen Banana Nut chocolate chip muffins that do nothing to my bs. They are 30 grams of carbs - so I usually pair it with some lean protein, salad and cauliflower and eat the muffin as dessert. DELICIOUS
* 2 e.ggo nutra.grain waffles with small dallop of whipped cream and 1/2 cup strawberries. This is so yummy you swear it must be bad.
I know we all react differently to the same foods - but maybe some of this will be useful to someone!
I was just thinking about dessert. :) Can you have things sweetened with agave? I use that in place of sugar because it's low on the glycemic index.
ReplyDeleteI have heard great things about agave - but I have never used it... and I am not an especially great baker :) I;ll have to experiment with it this weekend - thanks for the idea... feel free to e-mail me an easy chocolatey recipe you may have ;)
ReplyDeleteAll those things sound so yummy. I have to look for the healthier Eggo waffles somewhere, I didn't know they made those!
